Sometimes, I over-assert myself and become too aggressive.
Good or bad? Depends on the type of personality that you have.
I'm a fence-sitter. Thus, I am always having this internal (& eternal) struggle with "Good vs Evil".
This is what happens when a potentially-bad situation presents itself. It will always end in either of the two ways which I will mention below. If I'm lucky to have some hero or heroine around, then probably a third option. But, I've digressed.
Okay, so here is the Bad Situation:
Sales person giving a really bad attitude and I'm really keen on getting the items he/she is selling.
This is usually the way I end it:
Bear with the bad attitude and buy the items I want. Unhappy with the purchase experience and regrets not taking charge of the situation.
I sometimes do it this way:
Give the same attitude back to the person. If it continues, ask the person more direct questions which may lead to his/her downfall. Then ask for another someone who is better to serve me. Make a hullaballoo and receive the type of service I wanted. Sales person probably getting a mark in his/her record.
This is my struggle:
If I don't assert myself, I feel lousy for being such a timid and useless person.
If I do assert myself, I do not know when to stop and end up being the nasty person myself. Then, I regret making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Either way, I struggle hard.
This is what I call a personality defect. People shouldn't be born this way. Why should we be made to have internal debates all the time? Isn't it tiring? Sadly, it can't be stopped.
Don't pretend, you know that you have at times done that yourself.
Well, then to the optimal solution or how I call it..
The best way to end it:
Hero or heroine does exactly the above or pulls me away from the situation insisting there is no point shopping there.
In reality, I've been walking away from many sales people. However, there are always places like optical shops where you have already ordered an item and can't just walk away. This is when things get nasty.
So you will probably have guessed by now that the above situation have probably happened to me just recently. And I am STILL struggling with it.
Have a good debate with yourself!

ひさしぶり (Long time no see)
Yup, it's been a long, long time.
Today, I'm inspired by my students to write.
As usual, they give me the strength to push forward. They are the fuel that fires up my passion for this profession. I love being surrounded by them, as they make me forever young!
I think it's just another excuse for me to act like an elementary school kid. It was really great fun going on an excursion with them and to play with them. Kids who were previously gloomy smiled so beautifully and I've managed to capture all those wonderful moments. These are the treasures which will stay with me forever.
I've told one kid recently that we learn through our mistakes so there's nothing to be ashamed about. It is only when we fail that we succeed. It is only when we have embarrassed ourselves that we get stronger. It is so true. I was forced to camp overnight in the wilderness. Even though I was really reluctant and fearful at first, I somehow managed to overcome my fear. Just having experienced the terrible incidents made me fearless. Sometimes, we really have to force ourselves to do things we don't like because they do make us grow.
I hope to get my thrill-seeking self back so that I will feel more alive again!
To more failures and seeking the unknowns!
Cheers!

An Entry As the Year 2011 Comes to an End

It has been a long time. As usual, life is filled with nothing but work. It may be a subconcious effort to keep love at bay so that there will be no risk of getting hurt. Some hurt takes a really long time to heal. Some doesn't even heal at all. My hope for the new year is that my heart can be opened to love again and not shut everyone out.

When will it ever stop..
Just dreamt about being betrayed by a

Someone who has reappeared many times in my dreams.
Wish it would just stop and that he will disappear forever!

Instead let me dream more about this idol!

Joker
Everyone has experienced days when they do not want to go to work simply because they do not feel like it. Well, I am feeling that right now.
For me, this is when this joke comes to mind cause its hilarious.
"I do not want to go to school, mummy"
"You have to my son."
"Why must I?"
"You have to because you are the principal."
Get it?

Fickled
Even though I have this amazing application named "BlogPress" which easily allows me to update my blog anytime, anywhere, on my iphone, I have not made use of it. This is another example of my fickle-mindedness.
I have countless amazing items which I was passionate about when I first got it. However, the fire sizzled out and they are usually abondoned. Thankfully, it does rekindle once I catch sight of the item when it resurfaces from my various dumping ground aka my room.
This particular post is the result of me re-discovering the existence of such an iphone app while I am lazying in bed with nothing better to do. An aimless post that has proven my point.

Hyde, The Chihuahua
Proudly announcing the latest member of my household. The four months old Chihuahua is named after my all-time-favourite Japanese rocker, Hyde, of the popular band L'arc-en-Ciel and also VAMPS.
Japan calls him "haito" but I pronounce it as "hy-de". My mum calls him "hai de" in mandarin. My cheeky cousins calls him "ai de" which means the short one. Coincidentally, the original Hyde is as short as me @ 1.58m. Chihuahuas r short too. Isnt it such a perfect name?

Unnatural High (不自然な最高)
Let me state clearly first.
No.
I've not, am not and will not do anything illegal.
(You know what I meant.. *_*)
It's just that most of my days have ended on a high note.
Well, perhaps some super low days.
It feels kind of unreal at times.
And I start to wonder if this is really my life.
I didn't notice it at first;
But then I started to do funny things in front of my 'audience'.
I didn't lose my patience at work.
I didn't get angry when there were some nasty remarks from stakeholders.
It's amazing how wonderful life is right now.
And then I start to ponder why wasn't it like this since the beginning.
I've missed out, like, so many decades of fun! Of life!
I'm probably just a crazy bitch mumbling some rubbish.

First Ebay, now YesAsia.com
I've been doing transactions on eBay for about half a year, both sales and purchases. Now I've finally dipped my toes into other online websites for my CD/DVD purchases. I've always thought I would be buying music items from one of the big 3, HMV Japan, YesAsia or CDJapan.
Instead, I've ordered 4 Japanese DVD Movies. Can't believe I've done it. It's not available in Singapore but cost about the same price as Poh Khim or any other JKdrama shops. Unbelievable cheap as they're on sale. I guess those movies aren't that popular since it's not being brought over. Another reason could be that they're pretty old stuff.
It's been mentioned by many people so it's quite reliable. For music/movie lovers, do check it out. http://www.yesasia.com/global/en/home.html

Eeyore (イーヨー) & koinu no pero (こいぬのペロ)
These are presents from my sister & her boyfriend.
Not exactly the kind of thing people would usually get me but it's exactly what I needed and wanted most!!
I realised it only when I opened the box.
I fell in love with both toys the moment I saw them and couldn't help but to hug them tight.
Then I set them up as what you can see from the photo above!!
Eeyore riding the moving doggie!
The doggie is one amazing toy! It's called こいぬのペロ from Japan.
You can find it on amazon japan.

Away in Japan (日本)
I'm finally going to the land of the rising sun!
About 14 hours away from touching down in Narita.
I've got loads more to squeeze into my bags.
Now, I must remember to remind myself to bring my passport.

The 80-20 Rule (80-20の規則)
I was told this wisdom by the #1 person at my work place when someone riled me up.
It still helps me every now and then.
It goes something like this:
"There will always be people who will not response well to you. That's a small percentage. Maybe 20%. You can never please everyone. So focus instead on the 80% who are there for you. They are what makes everything worthwhile."I sent this to someone and thought that I should remind myself of that too.
So here I am sharing with you.

Bad Health (悪い健康)
This body of mine is not recovering. It is dragging on. Not only are my symptoms not improving, but something new has developed. It is reacting to the antibiotics which was supposed to stop my pain in my throat. Supposed to. That's right, my throat is still hurting and I have rashes all over my body! It started with just my right shoulder and navel area. After 4 pills, it has increased to cover almost all sections except my hands and feet.
Then, my ears went semi deaf! On some occasions, I can hear somewhat clearly. Most of the time, I'm listening to that deafening silence. Yup, that irritating noise from total silence. It drowns the voice of people I'm talking to. And when I tried to plug the ear with my finger, I hear weird sounds and I know it's imaged sound cause I don't hear it with my other ear. Tell me I'm going mad, please! At least that would be normal if I'm mad!
Now, I'm getting scared and irritated. Something is really wrong with my body. I seriously don't wish to go Japan in this condition. Especially not, after the incident with my family. I really, really don't want to go at all!

Studying the Smart Way (スマートな方法)
Taught by my good friend at my workplace. Simply have to smoke my way through after studying the past year exam questions. Really great! Instead of plodding through the lengthy notes, I just focus on the important parts which will usually appear in exams! Should have done this donkey years ago!
Anyway, now I'm being cocky and wasting my time online. Okay Back to my studies!

EXAM Time!!! (テスト)
First of all, I'm taking 2 papers on the same day! With only an hour break in-between. Luckily, they are related topics but I find it silly to be tested twice on similar topics. However, I can look at it on the bright side that I have more hours to complete it or that I have more questions to answer.
Anyway, I've started my study leave today. I still went to work at 8.30am and left only around 3.30pm. As mentioned, my body was already retaliating and now it's upgraded to a full-blown flu. Voice has changed, throat is gone and nose is leaking. And the thing I fear the most, especially in an exam hall - Sudden cough attacks!!
Think I can forget about studying and just concentrate fully on recovering first.
Rest & Relax!!

Sleepy Monster (モンスター )
A combination of long hours and lack of sleep has drawn out the monster that was hiding deep inside me. They are all linked. It's a cycle. Lack of sleep leads to grouchy me at workplace. Grouchy me means loads crappy encounters. Crappy encounters leads to sleeplessness. You know the rest.
I was so drained that I actually could fall into deep sleep at 3pm yesterday. I bore with it til around 9 and really slept. Woke around 9am today and that is almost 12 hours of sleep. Well, I am still dead tired! It's as if I didn't sleep at all!
Isn't this bad enough? No, my body thinks otherwise. It protested with flu! Now I have a cold headache, stuffy nose and body aches. Brain is on the verge of shutting down.
Oh Lord, please have mercy on me. I need to finish everything by tomorrow. If not, how to study for my exam in peace! *pray*

To all the Male Chauvinist Pigs (aka MCP) out there,
You're so VAIN that you think this is all about you?
Well, for once, it is INDEED about you!
So pay ATTENTION!!
The world does NOT revolve around you!
No one cares about what YOU think!
Face the fact that you are NOTHING without us women.
Wait a minute.
It is ME that the world revolves around!!
